It hit me today, if I don't have a goal laid out in front of me, then why am I doing what I'm doing? I go the the gym 3-4 times per week for the past 2 months and I've lost a few pounds, but that is about it. Today is the Chicago Marathon, which my husband ran in a few years ago. We started talking and I'm too afraid to commit right now, but how awesome would it be to accomplish that? So I am going to take baby steps. I have never been a "runner" as most of my years I have walked, loved getting outside and just walked. Last summer, however I did start adding running into my plans, but I just never followed through. I am in need of losing weight, I need to get my mind focused. I at the point in my workouts that I feel like running, but why? Why am I running? So starting today I have that focus!
I'm going to be running my own 5k, in 9 weeks. I am going to follow the couch to 5k program.
I admit I'm an over poster on facebook, so this is where I am going to document my journey.
So here is my week one plan:
